Bio: CONTER, Chris Brian passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2005 at 5p.m. at Sutter Medical Center in Roseville, California. He Died Suddenly after a Brave and Courageous fight with cancer. He was 45 years old and the youngest son of Evelyn E. Conter and the late John A. Conter who died in 1967.
He lived for his children and will be greatly missed by his son Brian Conter age 15, Mother and former wife Jan Benson. Daughter Claire, age 9, Mother and former wife Suzanne Conter. Also survived by brothers David Conter of Huber Heights, Ohio, Jack Conter, wife Cheryl, children Michael & Steven of Gainesville, Georgia and Richard Conter & son Nolan of Folsom, CA. Chris is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. Chris is a graduate of Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio with a B.S. Degree in 1980. He was a loyal employee of Aerojet in Sacramento, California for 20 years as a Environmental Financial Analyst. He was a lifelong baseball player for most of his life with favorite uniform number 34. This included Little League, Vandalia Butler High School, Sinclair College, and Wright State University. He also played amateur AA Baseball for HH Morgan in Ohio, and the Sacramento Cardinals traveling team after moving to Sacramento in 1985. He actively participated as a pitcher until 3 years ago. Both teams played in the AA World Series in Battle Creek Michigan. He won one World Championship ring with HH Morgan and two World Championship rings with the Sacramento Cardinals. His passion in life were his beloved children Brian and Claire and baseball. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Visitation at Terebinski-Jennings Funeral Home 11900 N. Dixie Drive, Tipp City, OH. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Christopher Church 435 E. National Rd. Vandalia, OH, with Rev. Frank Keferl, Celebrant. Interment at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens Tipp City, OH. Published in the Dayton Daily News
