Bio: James, 64 of Corunna, MI died Sunday from colorectal cancer.
A mass of Christian Burial was at St Mary Catholic Church, Durand Michigan on Thursday March 10, 2011 with Fr Jeffry Poll officiating.
Jim was a truck driver most of his life driving over 35 years, and last retiring after 12 years with Automotive Component Carrier of Flint. He retired April 1, 2009.
He spent all 12 years of school at St Catherine's in Valley City, ND. In his senior year in 1963 he joined the National Guard and after graduation in 1964 he went to basic and AIT training at Ft Lenard Wood, MO. He later moved to Michigan in March of 1965 and then was transferred to an Army Reserve unit in Flint and later to Lansing being discharged in September of 1969.
Jim married Diana L Parker from Flint MI on April 30, 1971. He is survived by his wife Diana of 40 years of marriage and son Michael J (Diane) Heiser and grandchildren Wyatt and Wendy Heiser and step-granddaughter Tiffany Lorenz. Also brothers Lawrence (Cecile) of Breckenridge, MN, Richard (Shirly) of Fargo ND, Edward of Fargo ND, Joe of Corunna MI and sister Caroline (Bruce) Clark of Ringold GA, sister-in-law Judy Heiser of Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by son James "Jimmy" C Heiser and brothers George and Ken Heiser and parents Michael and Emma Heiser.
Jim was a member of St Mary Catholic Church in Durand MI and Eagles in Durand and a member of the Buick club of America and of the local Flint chapter "Buicktown". He enjoyed building and remodeling antique cars, especially his 1957 Buick Roadmaster. He enjoyed the many car shows and club activities throughout the years. He liked working on cars and trucks and could fix most anything. He met many people in the years of car shows and club activities and became good friends with many.
Jim loved watching and playing with his grandchildren and seeing them grow. Jim loved to go out dancing with his wife Diana on many Friday and Saturday nights a few years ago. Jim will be missed by many.
