Castillou, 84, of Stockton and formerly of Lodi, died on April 13 in a Stockton hospital. She was born on Sept. 14, 1914, in Hebron, N.D., and moved to Lodi as a teen with her parents and graduated from Lodi High School. She was a homemaker and devoted many hours to her children's school activities and outside interests. She enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Castillou in 1989. She is survived by two sons, John Castillou of Nevada and Paul Castillou of Stockton; a daughter, Joan Giacchino of Santa Cruz; a brother, Edwin Bender of Lodi; three sisters, Katie Mettler, Elizabeth Bauer and Sophia Bender all of Lodi; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at Cherokee Memorial Park.
