Mrs. Schauff was born July 8, 1922, in Tampico, the daughter of Bernard and Catherine (Wirth) Droste. She was an active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, the church's the Altar and Rosary Society and Legion of Mary, and served as a past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Ann (Francis) Phillips and Cheryl (Ted) Persails both of Flint, Mich.; a son, Joseph (Debra) Schauff of Toney, Ala.; a sister, Rose Mary (William) Newell of Sterling; a brother, Brother James Droste, S.M. of Eureka, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Anthony and Leo Droste; and a sister in infancy. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 am Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rock Falls, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak, celebrant, officiating Burial is at St. Mary Cemetery, Tampico. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., with the rosary recited at 6:45 p.m., today at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
