Philip Oliver Emmerich, 59, of Louisville passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at his home. Philip was born on Jan. 21, 1951, the son of Oliver William Michael and Anna C. (Jansen) Emmerich. He married Lois Long and they later divorced. Phil was a graduate of Newton Community High School and University of Illinois. He managed the T.G.M. Grain Elevator, Louisville. He was a life member of University of Illinois alumni and an avid Illini fan. He will be loved and remembered by his father, Oliver Emmerich; son, Paul Emmerich, daughter, Kari Emmerich; brothers, Edward, Michael, Stephen, and Stanley; sisters, Janet Miller and Alice Addis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna C. Emmerich; and sister, Martha Emmerich Dhom. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Island Grove, with the Rev. Joe Carlos celebrating the mass. Burial will be in Island Grove Cemetery.
