Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church in Clearbrook, MN with Rev. Verlyn Strenge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN. Shirley was born June 17, 1932 in Avon, South Dakota to parents, Emil and Helen (Dawald) Sattler. She was raised on a farm and attended schools in Avon graduating from Avon High School in 1949. Shirley attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Yankton, SD graduating as a registered nurse in 1952. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital and the State Hospital. She married Dwight Voigt on November 17, 1953 in Avon, South Dakota. They moved to Clearbrook, MN in 1970. Dwight was the administrator of the Good Samaritan Center and Shirley was director of nursing. In 1983 they moved to Warren, MN where they worked at the Warren Good Samaritan Center. After retiring they moved back to Clearbrook in 1994. Dwight died on May 18, 2006. Shirley was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the ladies group. She taught nurse's aide classes for several years. Shirley enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, canning, and baking. Survivors include- Her Daughter- Jeanette (Tom) Olson of Grand Rapids, MN Five Sons- Keith (Patricia) Voigt of Surrey, ND Orin (Carmen) Voigt of Burlington, ND Loren Voigt of Big Lake, MN Byron (Deborah) Voigt of Pilot Mountain, NC James (Valerie) Voigt of Detroit Lakes, MN One Sister- Carol (Bob) Paaoao of Las Vegas,NV Sister- in law- Amy Rattray of Centralia, WA 12 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
