Brown, 85, of Sumner, died at 9:40 a.m Monday, November 9, 2009, at his residence.Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Wachtel officiating. Burial will be in Noble Cemetery with full military rites performed by Olney veterans organizations.Mr. Brown was born July 19,1924, in Olney, the son of Thomas and Mary L. (Meyer) Brown. He married Ruby in 1975. She preceded him in death. He married Vera Franck on September 5,1975. She survives.He was a machinist, retired from Austin-Western in Aurora for 28 years, and had also worked for Roadmaster. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, member of Ainad Shrine Temple, Past Commander of Olney Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of American Legion.Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Vera Brown, of Sumner; son, Ron Brown Sr., of Claremont; stepson, Wayne Foreman, of Dixon; stepson, Thomas Foreman, of Mt. Vernon; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
