She was a Flushing High School graduate; an Elliott School of Business alumnus; and member of East Richland Friends Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Thomas VanNest.Surviving are her loving husband, Clyde E. Carpenter; a son, Scott E. Carpenter and his wife Carol of Pendleton, Indiana; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Megan and Vera; two sisters, Gloria Jean Ford of Lorain, Ohio and Darlene Demarchi of Amherst, Ohio; many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev.
