Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 S. Main St., Aberdeen, with Rev. Tanya Rist officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. (with family present 6-7 p.m.), Thursday, at Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street, Aberdeen, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Mabel Mae Schock was born Nov. 13, 1941, to Fred and Esther (Ketterling) Schock at Long Lake, S.D. This is the area where she grew up and attended school. Mabel then graduated from Leola High School. She worked for the telephone company in Aberdeen for several years. She then moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she worked for about 20 years before moving back to the Minneapolis area where she was employed at Rise Incorporated. Mabel enjoyed reading, embroidering, taking walks and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her mother, Esther Schock of Mounds View, Minn.; one brother, Reuben (Peggy) Schock of Bolton, Conn.; one sister, Inez (Dennis) Ryan of Mounds View, Minn.; two nieces, Robin (Dale) Becroft of Wallingford, Conn., and Alisa (Michael) Croft of Washington, Conn.; one nephew, Mark (Kelly) Schock of Middlefield, Conn.; three grandnephews and three grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Robert Schock. Casketbearers will be her nephew, Mark Schock and her cousins, Arthur Ketterling, Clifford Erickson, Jerry Schumack, Tim Smith and Milton Kolb. Published in the Aberdeen News on 1/26/2006.
