Alois was born in Havenstein Pfalz, Germany on April 26, 1917 the son of Karl and Helen (Keller) Vogel. He came to the United States at the age of 12 and his family settled in Jamaica, NY where he received his education. He honorably served in the US Army during WW II. On February 9, 1946, Alois married Alma K. Cronauer at St. Joseph's Church in Utica. For 17 years he was employed with Queens Machine Company in NY City and later with Friedrich Climate Master in Utica retiring in 1979. He was a member of American Legion Utica Post 229 and was a parishioner of St. Joseph St. Patrick Church in Utica. Alois enjoyed woodworking and sharing his wood crafts with others.
