Peter was born Dec. 12, 1932, in Center, the son of Mike and Veronica (Doll) Himmelspach. He was united in marriage with Kathleen Ferderer Oct. 6, 1958. Peter worked as a construction superintendent for NC Rolfson and Sons for over 30 years. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. Peter enjoyed watching his children play softball, working in the yard/garden, playing pinochle in his card club and playing bingo. The family enjoys many fond memories of camping and fishing in "the bus" at Garrison.
His greatest pride was being with his family. Left with many fond memories are his four children, Terry (Michele) Himmelspach, Bismarck, Melinda (Myron) Scherr, Mandan, and Peggy Himmelspach and Alan Himmelspach, both of Scottsdale, Ariz. Also surviving him are his six grandchildren, Ashley, Tara and Kristin Himmelspach and Andrew, Erica and Dylan Scherr. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Bernice Himmelspach.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, in 1990; his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Matt Yantzer; and three brothers and one sister-in-law, Theodore, Martin and Anton (Ann) Himmelspach.
His legacy of love and laughter will be carried on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
