She was born April 3, 1929 in McHenry County, North Dakota to Wendelin and Flora Burgard. Survivors include her daughters Karen Schaan and her husband Edward D. Condon and Bonnie Schaan; sons Allan Schaan and his wife Ramona and Robert Schaan and his wife Rachel; sisters Helen Burgard, Betty Kraft and Eva Keller all of Harvey, North Dakota and Rosella Pfeifer of Minot, North Dakota; brothers Leo Burgard and Richard Burgard also of Minot, North Dakota; 9 grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart Jason Moffitt, Jessy Atkinson, Kristi Schaan, Destini Black, Kyle Schaan, Kiarra Schaan, Raimey Schaan, Cheyeanne Fitzgerald and Nathan Ringen;12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a close friend Mary Leonard. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Schaan on December 19, 1989. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Bethany Bible Fellowship, 1129 NE Stephens. Pastor Howard Johnson will officiate.
