She was born on May 5, 1940, in Leola. She lived in Aberdeen until 1961. She then moved to Sioux Falls, and later to Mesa 1986. Survivors include one sister, Lavina Hoffman and husband, Albert of Aberdeen. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at Miller Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. Gloria (Rau) Lippert was born on May 5, 1940 in Leola, S.D. where she married Marvin Rau on October 10, 1956 and lived in Aberdeen, S.D. until 1961. She then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D where Marvin passed away on March 2, 1966. Gloria married Al Lippert on June 13, 1969. They owned Town and Country Ceramics in Sioux Falls for 10 years. They moved to Mesa, A.Z. in 1986, where she retired from Verizon Wireless in May of 2005 at the age of 65. Gloria or "Glo" as know by her friends enjoyed making many crafts including beading, toll painting and ceramics. She also enjoyed traveling with friends, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. After she retired she went to work at Beads at Brooksies where she taught many classes on how to make beaded jewelry. This became her favorite place to be. She was a wonderful mother, wife and friend; she will be missed by all. Survivors are her husband Al Lippert, two daughters Roxanne Gross and husband Harry of Gillette, WY, Stacey Dougherty and husband Dan of Sioux Falls, SD, two sons Lark Rau of Sioux Falls, SD, Tobby Rau of St. Petersburg, FL, a step-son Mark Lippert and wife Stacey of Mesa, AZ, 5 grandchildren Jeremy and Justin Gross, Kyle and Paige Dougherty and Zach Lippert, one sister Lavina Hoffman and husband Albert of Aberdeen, SD. She was preceded in death by husband Marvin Rau and her parents Emanuel and Ottillia Schaible. Memorial services will be Monday, January 29, 2007 at Miller Funeral Home 13th & Main.
