Clements of Springfield, who died July 23 of age-related causes. She was 85. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. She was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Richardson [sic], N.D., to Leonard and Eugenia Loran Hecker. She married Walter Clements on Feb. 21, 1946, in Eugene. She played in a family band in the 1930s, worked as a cook at St. Mary Catholic Church and, during World War II, worked at Spear and Jackson making bits for saw blades. Survivors include her husband; a son, Marvin of Springfield; a daughter, Shirley Flores of Springfield; two sisters, Anamarie of Montana and Tillie of North Dakota; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son, James, died Aug. 19, 1967. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
