Birth: Feb. 3, 1927 Prescott Adams County Iowa, USA Death: Sep. 12, 2009 Marshalltown Marshall County Iowa, USA Norma Fehrle, age 82, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 15, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston, Iowa. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Lenox, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, September 13, at Pursel Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown and 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 14, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pursel Davis Funeral Home. Norma was born February 3, 1927, on a farm outside Prescott, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Elsie (Meyer) Schaeffer. She graduated from Prescott High School and continued her education at Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, Nebraska. In 1950, Norma was united in marriage to Carl Fehrle in Washington State and they moved to Des Moines. In 1969, they moved to Columbia, MO, and then Camdenton, MO where she lived for over 5 years until her failing heath from Parkinsons Disease. Norma has resided in the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center for over the past 6 years. Norma enjoyed gardening and especially raising and pruning her roses. She loved nature and was fond of cardinals and other birds. Norma is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Jim) Burns of Camdenton, MO, Dr. Margaret Fehrle (Dr. Doug Cooper) of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Jeffrey Burns of Camdenton, MO, Nick Cooper of Marshalltown, Jonathan Brown of Denver, CO; step grandchildren, Jimmie (Tiffany) Burns of Illinois, and Tommy (Erin) Burns of Camdenton, MO. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on October 1, 1992.
