Birth: Mar. 5, 1927 Wishek McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Death: Nov. 2, 2004 LaMoure LaMoure County North Dakota, USA Ellen Nelson, 77, LaMoure, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, in St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure. Ellen Ketterling was born March 5, 1927, in Wishek, N.D. She moved to the Grand Rapids, N.D., area, where she attended school. She worked at the candy store and the grocery store in LaMoure. On Oct. 5, 1952, she married Ernest Nelson Jr. They lived in LaMoure. In 1955, they started farming near Verona, N.D. He died in 1987. She continued to live on the farm until 1994 when she entered the care center. She is survived by a son, Craig (Holly); a daughter, Tammy; six brothers, Ben, Elmer (Ruby), Ervin (Marilyn) Ketterling, Herbert (Shirley), Wilbert, Raymond (Barbara); five sisters, Esther (Kenneth) Haugen, Norma (William) Kale, Irene (Gilbert) Hildahl, Katherine (Allen) Hodem, Sara (Bill) Peterson; and three grandchildren. Visitation: Tonight from 5 to 7 in Dahlstrom Funeral Home, LaMoure, and Saturday from 10 to 11 in High Prairie Lutheran Church near LaMoure. Funeral: Saturday at 11 in the church. Burial: High Prairie Cemetery near LaMoure.
