Timothy Philipps, 54, of Lexington, died Sunday, November 27, 1994, at his home. Born March 20, 1940, in Wheeling, W. Va., He was the son of Adelaide Philipps of Glen Dale, W. Va.. and the late Edwin Philipps. Mr. Philipps was a Professor of Law at Washington & Lee University School of Law. A member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and was a member of the Virginia State Bar. He was a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit College, Georgetown Law School and received an L.L.M. from Harvard Law School. Surviving beside his mother are his wife; two daughters; two brothers; one sister and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Wednesday, November 30, 1994, at 11 a.m. with Father J. Morton Biber. Private burial will be in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to J. Timothy Philipps Scholarship Fund, c/o Washington & Lee Law School, Lexington, Va. 24450 or Rockbridge Area Hospice, 146 S.
