Birth: Jul. 22, 1922 Morton County North Dakota, USA Death: Jul. 24, 2006 Mott Hettinger County North Dakota, USA MONICA MEIER was born on July 22, 1922, one of three siblings on the family farm in Morton County, ND to Joe and Eva (Schwartz) Meier. She grew up spending most of her life on the farm. On June 19th, 1946 she married Joseph J. Wolf and together they ran a country store in St. Placidus, ND. In 1972 they moved to Mott together, where they raised three children, Jerry, Carilyn and Marilyn. Monica worked as a nurse's aide at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center for 25 years. In 1990, Monica and Joe adopted their granddaughter, Amy. Monica was very well known for her beautiful quilts that she made. She took the time to make at least one special quilt for every member of her family. Monica was always happy to patch up anything and everything. She also enjoyed her garden, where she grew her famous tomato plants. Between her garden and sewing projects, she found time to bake and create recipe books, work on her numerous scrapbooks, collect stamps, help run the Mott Thrift Store, was an active member of the St. Vincent's parish and the Catholic Daughters. Monica was always ready at any event with her camera in hand. All of Monica's passions and hobbies have been passed down from generation to generation in her family and will be treasured for years to come. She left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered and her memory will continue to inspire those that loved her to be at least half of the wife, mother, grandmother and friend that Monica was. After a long battle with cancer, Monica spent her final four months at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Mott, where she passed from this life on July 24, 2006. Grateful for sharing in her life are her husband, Joe J. Wolf, of Mott; her children, Jerry (Bonnie) Wolf, St. Cloud, MN, Marilyn Gawrylow and Carolyn Wolf, both of Dickinson, ND and Amy Wolf, of Bismarck, ND; nine grandchildren, Lisa, Suzanne, Mary, Michele, Shannon, Sheldon, Sheridan, Chad and Lori and nine great-grandchildren.
