Leola - Funeral service for Walter C. Wolf, 69, of Leola will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory at Aberdeen. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2006, from 2-6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. He died April 11, 2006, at Avera Heart Hospital of Sioux Falls. Walter C. Wolf, son of Christian and Ottilia (Nitschke) Wolf, was born Aug. 22, 1936, on the family homestead near Long Lake, S.D. He attended country school while also farming with his family. He was united in marriage to Violet Dockter Brosz on Oct. 22, 1961, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Aberdeen. They made their home on his family's farm for five years. They then purchased a farm 3 miles west of Leola where they have lived and farmed, raising small grains, livestock and dairy. In 1982, he retired from farming. He then managed the Leola Sales Barn from 1982-1984. He was a Holstein Cattle Broker for many years. Since 1975, he has been a McNess Feeds Sales Representative. Walter enjoyed people and visiting with them. He loved his work and always enjoyed driving through the countryside. He was a member of Yelduz Shrine, Masonic Lodge and the Aberdeen Eagles Club. He was a past board member of the Leola Equity Exchange and a past delegate for American Milk Producers Association. Survivors include his wife, of Leola; one daughter, Joan (Don) Pudwill of Leola; two sons, Timothy (Andrea) Brosz of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jeffrey (Lorraine) Wolf of Gregory, S.D.; one sister, Ella (Archie) Dunnuci of Roberts, Wis.; six grandchildren; and two great-grand- daughters. His parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Casketbearers will be Tel Pudwill, Cory Pudwill, Josh Pudwill, Jon Pudwill, Lindsay Wolf and Marcus Wolf. The organist will be Marilyn Gibbs and the soloist will be Susan Van Dover. The family prefers memorials be made to the Yelduz Shrine Transportation Fund, PO Box 1066, Aberdeen, SD 57402-1066. Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen have been entrusted with arrangements.
