"Native of Woodsfield Dies on Vacation Trip"
Woodsfield --- Dr. Charles E Richner, 55, of 1275 North Howard Street, Akron, a native of this community, died suddenly Saturday after suffering a heart attack while vacationing in Canada with a brother-in-law, Dr. Milton Wolpert of Chester, W. Va.
Dr. Richner was born Oct. 12, 1904, a son of Everett E. and Millie Thronberry Richner. After graduating form high school in 1923 he attended Woodsfield Normal School. He taught in local schools for a short time, then attended Ohio University where he was affliated with Theta Chi fraternity. He later graduated from dental college at Ohio State University where he was a member of Phi Omega, honorary dental fraternity and began practice in 1931.
In 1947 Dr. Richner moved to Cuyahoga Falls and began practicing in Akron.
He had joined the Masonic Blue Lodge here and at the time of his death was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Chapter No. 225, Cuyahoga Falls Council No. 144, Cuyhoga Falls Commandry No. 83, and Tender Temple Shrine. He was also a member of the Akron Dental Association.
Surviving Dr. Richner are his widow, the former Elizabeth Sears of this community whom he married in 1929; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Wolpert of Chester, W. Va., and Mrs. Elsie Riley of Woodsfield.
Services are to be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Bellows Funeral Home at Akron and the body will be brought to Turner Funeral Home here where friends may call after 7 p.m. DST. Masonic rites are to be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. John Benson will afficiate and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery."
