Birth: May 24, 1863 Indiana, USA Death: Dec. 26, 1942 Evansville Vanderburgh County Indiana, USA Poseyville News dated January 1, 1943: Death at 5 o'clock Saturday morning claimed Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Schettler, 79, a life long resident of Stewartsville, at Sunny Rest, a nursing home in Evansville where she had been removed a week earlier. She had been bedfast for three weeks suffering from nueritis. Death was due to static pneumonia. She was the widow of Adam Schettler, who succumbed in 1936. The daughter of Jake and Caroline Schettler, she was born and spent her entire life in and near Stewartsville where she held a place of esteem in the community. She was a member of the old Lutheran church of that place. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lena Beal, who made her home with her mother; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Faest, of Youngstown, O., and Mrs. Louis Mann, of Stewartsville and a number of neices and nephews. The body was brot to the Werry funeral home here Saturday and taken to the late residence Sunday. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Stewartsville, the Rev. Mr. Skelton, of New Harmony, former pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in the Stewartsville cemetery. Members of the Odd Fellows lodge srved as pallbearers.
