Ann Hager, 84, Bismarck, died Feb. 12, 2011, in a Bismarck care center. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ann was born Feb. 10, 1927, to Nick and Pauline (Glasser) Stumpf, in Richardton. She was raised and educated in Richardton as well. She moved to Bismarck with her family, where she worked at FW. Woolworth, JC Penney and Montgomery Wards.
She married Tony Hager on Nov. 8, 1954, in Bismarck. She retired from Montgomery Wards in 1989. After her retirement, she baby-sat her two grandsons, whom she enjoyed and loved very much.
Ann loved to do word puzzles, read and listen to western and polka music. She also had a special love for flowers.
She is survived by one daughter, Marcia (Jerry) Schmidt, Lincoln; one son, Mark Hager, Bismarck; two grandchildren, Justin and Cody Schmidt, and one sister-in-law, Agnes Stumpf, all of Bismarck; one sister, Hilda (Harry) Hruby, Bismarck; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; her parents, Nick and Pauline; four brothers, Eugene, Frank, John and Joe Stumpf; three sisters, Eleanor Zimmerman, Pauline Smith and Rosemary Hruby; and three sisters-in-law.
