Birth: Oct. 28, 1943 Presho Lyman County South Dakota, USA Death: Nov. 25, 2015 Kennebec Lyman County South Dakota, USA George Konrad Mundlien was born October 28, 1943 in Presho, SD to John and Bertha (Roth) Mundlein. He attended country school through the eighth grade and high school in Kennebec. After high school, he worked as a farmhand in the area for local farmers. He enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard and attended basic training at Fort Ord, California. After basic training, he returned to Kennebec and continued to work for area farmers. On December 6, 1964, George was united in marriage to Betty Stanton at San Jose, CA. They returned to South Dakota where they began farming, renting at first and then purchasing their own farm south of Kennebec. George enjoyed fishing, hunting, welding, and playing cards. His greatest enjoyment was farming and in his later years a little road tripping was always welcome. His grandchildren were very special to him and he played a large part in their lives. George passed away on November 25, 2015 at his home at Kennebec at the age of 72 years.
