Birth: May 12, 1917 North Dakota, USA Death: Jan. 11, 2013 Washington, USA Elizabeth (Betty) Kautzman passed away peacefully on January 11, 2013 at Providence Mount Saint Vincent, Seattle at the age of 95. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Marys, with Monsignor Lindemann as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 18, at Bismarck Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary service at 7 p.m. She was born in Solen, North Dakota on May 12, 1917 to Celestina and Nick Hatzenbuhler. She was raised and educated in Solen and married Anton (Tony) Kautzman on February 18, 1935. In 1955 they moved to Seattle Washington. In June of 1983 they retired to Monroe Washington where they lived until 1998. In 1998 they moved to Kent, Washington. Shortly after Tony's death in 1999 Betty moved into Providence Mt. St. Vincent where she remained until she passed away. She is survived by a son; Gene (Anita) Kautzman, Kent; daughters; Betty (Vern) Rasmusson, Yakima; Cindy (Tony) Bohorfoush, Seattle; son-in law, James Schiermeister, Hazelton; 12 grandchildren; Kevin (Nan) Schiermeister, Craig (Bernie) Schiermeister, Cheryl (Dwight) Baker, Gene (Christine) Kautzman, Mark (Catherine) Kautzman, Matt (Darlene) Brown, Vince (Beverly) Brown, Derek Skinner, Tamra Farstad, Kevin (Elaine) Kautzman, Kellin (Lonaeja) Kautzman, Ryan Curry; 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Magdaline Balkowitsch, Caroline Kuntz, Irene Glasser, one brother, John P. (Florence) Hatzenbuhler and one sister-in-law, Louise Hatzenbuhler. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, her daughter, Burnetta (Jim) Schiermeister, her son Tony Kautzman, her parents; two brothers, Anton and Jacob, one sister, Rose Geiss; four brother-in-laws, Bob (Magdaline) Balkowitsch, Anthony (Rose) Geiss, Lawrence (Irene) Glasser, Alphonse (Caroline)Kuntz; and three brother/sister-in-laws, Jake and Katie Kautzman, Ralph and Agnus Kautzman, Emanuel and Monica Dirk. She brought such joy to so many people's lives and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
