Birth: Aug. 17, 1932 Fairfield Solano County California, USA Death: Jul. 11, 2007 Billings Yellowstone County Montana, USA Charles Martin Blythe, 74, of Hysham, a heavy equipment operator and volunteer firefighter, passed away on July 11, 2007, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings. He was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Fairfield, Calif., the son of Paul and Esther (Lynch) Blythe. On May 9, 1953, he married Mary Jane Keller in Rantoul, Ill. They had lived in Hysham for 30 years. He worked in road construction and as a firefighter for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Porter of New Salem, N.D.; a son, Richard Blythe of Deer Lodge; a brother, Leslie Blythe, and sister, Kay Gabriel, both of California; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services were on July 14 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hysham. Committal of ashes was in Hysham Memorial Vale Cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of Dahl Funeral and Cremation Service of Billings.
