He was a 35 year resident of this area, born in Cathay, North Dakota. On July 21, 1947, in Tenopah, Nev., he married Etta L. Kurtz, who survives. For many years Mr. Kurtz was employed by Weyerhaeuser Co. and at the time of his retirment began work for Ponderosa Nursing Home. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include the widow, Etta, Klamath Falls; brother, Ben Kurtz, Boise, Idaho; Harry Kurtz, Hazelton, Idaho; and Walter Kurta, Kiel, Wis.; sisters, Ruth Gratzer, Klamath Falls, and Esther Ash, Reno, Nev.; also numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Mr. Kurtz as preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
