She was born April 6, 1928 in Jerusalem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Alva and Laura Holmes Berry. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Jerusalem Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen E. Swallie; a sister, Wilma Swallie and a brother, Elmer Berry. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Swallie and Sandy (Richard) Wise; a son, Allen (Nila) Swallie; grandsons, Jeff (Missy) Swallie and Bryan (Angie) Swallie; a great-grandson, Nicholas Allen Swallie, all of Barnesville, Ohio; a sister, Hilda Abbott, of Woodsfield, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 702 East Main St., Barnesville, where services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., with Pastor Rodney West officiating.
