Dunk, 82, formerly of Moose River Road, died Friday at Sunset Nursing Home, where he had been a resident since 1991. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Trainor Funeral Home with the Rev. William Mudge officiating. Burial will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Port Leyden Fire Department Ambulance Fund. Surviving are his wife, Bernice; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Trescott, Boonville, Mrs. Jim (Sharon) VerMeersch, Shallotte, N.C., and Mrs. Joe (Judy) Colombo, Penfield; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, William and Richard, both of Florida, and nieces and nephews. A brother, Harry, died before him. Born March 26, 1912, in Greece, N.Y., son of Reginald and Laura Schnetzer Dunk, he grew up in Palmyra, where he attended school. He and his brother, William, operated the Dunk Brothers Construction Co. For 25 years, Mr. Dunk operated the Community Disposal Business in Palmyra. He married Bernice G. Crane Jan. 24, 1937, in Palmyra. The couple moved to Boonville in 1973. Mr. Dunk was a member of the Palmyra Dutch Reformed Church, the Up and Go Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons and attended the Boonville United Methodist Church.
