Birth: May 20, 1914 Fredonia Logan County North Dakota, USA Death: Jul. 13, 2005 Wishek McIntosh County North Dakota, USA Martha Lautt, 91, Wishek, ND died Wednesday morning July 13, 2005 at the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND. Martha Sukut was born May 20, 1914 at the family farm SW of Fredonia, ND, the daughter of Edward Sukut Sr. and Emma (Bender) Sukut. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity. She and Edwin Lautt were married October 14, 1935 at Fredonia, ND. They made their home on his parent's farm until 1938 when they moved to a different farm in the Fredonia area. In 1940 they moved to a farm 10 miles SW of Fredonia where they farmed until 1955 when they sold the farm and bought the Fredonia Bar. In 1965 they sold the bar and moved into Fredonia. Following the death of her husband, September 27, 1987, she continued to reside in Fredonia until 1989 when she moved to Wishek, ND, and in May of 2003, she entered the Wishek Retirement Home. She was a member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Fredonia, and Ladies Aid. She is survived by 1 son, Vernon (Emogene) Lautt, Moses Lake, WA; 2 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Viola Mowry, Monroe, WA and Anna Miller, Wishek, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 daughters, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday July 16, 2005 at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Fredonia, ND with Rev. Annette Crickenberger, officiating pastor. The interment will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Fredonia, ND. Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Wishek, ND.
