He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan September 6, 1944, to Albert and Miriam (Stout) Morio, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lee; his daughter, Melayna Leigh Morio, who was the light of his life; his sister, Mary Zahner (Pete); and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Michael was a cable splicer for Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 13 years. On February 25, 1981, he survived a severe spinal cord injury which left him paralyzed from the chest down. He never lost his sense of humor, his love for motorcycles, and was grateful for his loyal friends who helped him through long days. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor, where the funeral service will be held Friday, August 28 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that you thoughtfully consider a donation to National Spinal Cord Injury Association.
