Janet was born August 5, 1942, in Vincennes, the daughter of Leo and Bessie (Rice) Tromley. She married James L. Kitchell on November 29, 1969, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2008. She retired from Vincennes University. She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Vincennes Moose Lodge. Janet is survived by her daughters, Julie Kitchell of Vincennes and Beckie Kitchell of Vincennes; grandchildren, Fletcher Kitchell, Tyler Kitchell, Maggie Kitchell, and Olivia Hunter; sisters, Rose Jones of Vincennes and Nancy Carnahan of Vincennes; and brother, Kenny Tromley of Vincennes. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; sister, Marlene Riney; and brothers, Marlan Tromley and Jerry Lee Tromley. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church St. A private burial will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery.
