Birth: Feb. 29, 1944 Vanderburgh County Indiana, USA Death: Dec. 4, 2011 Vanderburgh County Indiana, USA Barbara "Barb" Sue (Mills) Hicks, 67, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center. Barb was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 29, 1944 to Bud and Delores (Groeninger) Mills. She graduated from St. Ben's Grade School and Bosse High School. Barb worked in food service at Bosse High School from 1984 until 2006. She was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral. Barb enjoyed playing bingo, loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time at their place at Patoka Lake. Barbara is survived by her husband of 50 years, Norman Hicks of Evansville, IN; her daughter, Lori (Mark Bright) Bredemeier-Bright of Evansville, IN; two sons, Ronnie (Pam) Hicks of Evansville, IN, and Rod Hicks of Evansville, IN; one sister, Judy Pierson of Evansville, IN; ten grandchildren, Jackie Hicks, Aaron Hicks, Justin Bredemeier, Donovan Bright, Ashley Bright, Meredith Hicks, Keisha Hicks, Tyler Bright, Seth Bright, Rachael Hicks, and five great-grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Delores (Groeninger) Mills, and her father, Bud Mills. Funeral services will be held 8:30 AM, Friday, December 9, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home, continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at St. Benedict Cathedral. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2-8PM Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN.
