Birth: Jun. 29, 1924 Center Oliver County North Dakota, USA Death: Nov. 14, 2004 North Dakota, USA Obituary Bismarck Tribune (November 17, 2004) Eva Eckroth, 80, Mandan, died Nov. 14, 2004, at a local nursing home. Services will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Parkway Funeral Service, with a Catholic Daughters rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Eva was born June 29, 1924, in Center, the daughter of Sebastian and Rose (Berger) Freidt. She was raised and educated in Judson. On Oct. 2, 1945, she married Philip Eckroth in New Salem. They farmed southwest of Mandan until 1961, when they moved to Bottineau, then to Moscow, Idaho, and returned to Mandan in 1999. Eva enjoyed people, loved to play cards and travel. Eva is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Wally and Iris, Lewistown, Idaho, and Thomas and Betty, Peoria, Ariz.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Monica Price, Bismarck, Marion Hoffman and Marge and Calvin Hoff, all of Bismarck, Maggie Markel, Mandan, and Katie and Kenneth Kunz, New Salem; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sebastian and Judy Freidt, Stevenson, Wash., and John and Ardy Freidt, Mountain Home, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Larry and Juris Wagner; four brothers, Chris, Nick, Jack and Stanly; and one sister, Clemetine Kokkler.
