Birth: Nov. 9, 1931 Louisiana, USA Death: Feb. 13, 2006 Opelousas St. Landry Parish Louisiana, USA Funeral services for Helen Marie Brown, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006 in Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic Church, with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. Fr. Jeff deBlanc will conduct the services. Helen Marie Brown, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Brown was the Secretary of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for the last five years. Mrs. Brown was very devoted to her family and church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include: one son, Robert A. Brown of St. Augustine, Fl.; one daughter, Mary Helen Soileau of Opelousas; one sister, Alice Evelyn Dupre of Opelousas; two brothers, Donald and wife Jackie Bordelon of Opelousas, Charles and wife Ollie Bordelon of Opelousas and two grandchildren April and Amber Brown of Baton Rouge. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Maurice A. Brown and her parents Avie and Helen Poulet Bordelon. Visiting hours will be observed from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2006 and 11 a.m. until time of services, Thursday, February 16, 2006. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home.
