He was born October 16, 1921 in Indianapolis to Martin and Magdalena (Koers) Miller. Mr. Miller grew up in the Fountain Square area and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1939. He worked for Allison Transmission for 40 years, retiring in 1980 as a supervisor. He served in the Army Air Corps in WWII as a staff sergeant, flying in a B-29 over the Himalayan Mountains in Indochina, supplying fuel and bombs to the troops. He was a charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3660. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Betty A. (McClish) Miller; sons, Joe (Kimberly), Dave (Jim), Robert Jr. (Donna); daughters, Pam (Jim) Balfour, Julie (John) Mitchell; sisters, Jean Naugle, Vivian Hittle, Shirley Pettit; brother, Martin Miller; grandchildren, Robert III, Christina, Jason, Travis, Jenna, and Mitchell; great grandchildren, Shawn, Jack, Cody, Samantha, William and Joseph. Services were entrusted to Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home of Indianapolis, Indiana.
