Lillian L. Lahr, 87, a former resident of West Park Drive in Huntington, died at 6:58 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 30, 2004) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren.
Mrs. Lahr, a lifelong resident of Huntington County, was a 1935 graduate of Clear Creek High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter's First United Church of Christ and had been inducted into the Huntington County Basketball Hall of Fame.She was born May 12, 1917, in Huntington County, to William and Mary France Lahr. She married Charles H. Lahr Oct. 16, 1937, in Huntington. Her husband died May 21, 1993.Survivors include five sons, Larry L. Lahr, Roanoke, Richard L. Lahr, Lake St. Louis, Mo., Ronald K. Lahr, Fort Wayne, and Donald E. Lahr and Glen A. Lahr, both of Huntington; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Kay) Flick, Huntington, Linda J. Shaw, Columbia City, and Marilyn A. Starbuck, Huntington; four sisters, Mrs. Earl (Betty) Moldenhauer, Huntington, Mrs. Don (Mary Alice) Shideler, Warren, Mrs. Orville (Margery) Ruple, Huntington, and Mrs. David (Shirley) Clapp, North Manchester; and 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Weaver, Edna Bauer and Ruby Eckert.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Rev. Raymond Scribner and Pastor Brian Damrow will officiate.
