Erma Dewald, 78, Jamestown, died Monday, June 25, 2001, at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown.
Erma Fischer was born Sept. 29, 1922, on the family farm west of Streeter, N.D., the daughter of Andreas and Barbara (Knodel) Fischer. She attended the local rural school in Streeter, worked on the family farm and grew up in the vicinity. She married Ephriam Dewald May 11, 1943. They lived on a farm north of Streeter. In July 1972 they moved into Streeter to retire. In 1988 they moved to the Gardenette, Jamestown, where they lived until he died in 1994. She moved to an apartment and then to Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, due to an illness. On June 19, 2001, she entered Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown. She enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards.
She is survived by a daughter, Laverne (Roger) Harr, Jamestown; two sons, Leon (Darlene) and Vaughn (Robin), both Jamestown; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with the Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.

Burial: Highland home Cemetery, Jamestown.
