Born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 21, 1927, daughter of the late Oscar & Ida (Singer) Helbling. Beloved wife of the late Allen E. Weiss. Loving mother of Allen E. Weiss of Shaler, Diane ("Mike" George) Bauer of Wexford, Cheryl (Jim) Rodgers of Shaler & Marilyn (Bill) McFadden of Gibsonia. Cherished sister of Eleanor Leitsch of Ross, Dorothy Cubarney of West View, Mary (Chuck) Skalos of Ross, Jim (Kay) Helbling of North Side and the late Harold, Emil, Wilbur, Howard, Ralph, Oscar & Larry Helbling, Mildred Egerter, Bertha Muller & Bernice Helbling. Also survived by six loving grandchildren: Melissa, Becky, Jamie, Doug, Allen & Billy. Friends received Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 and Sunday Noon-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue in West View. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 20, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bonaventure Church. Interment in Mt. Royal Cemetery. Ida was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary West View V.F.W. Ida C. Helbling was born March 21, 1927, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Oscar and Ida (Singer) Helbling.
Ida married Allen Weiss, and they became the parents of a son and three daughters.
Ida was a member of the the ladies auxiliary of West View V.F.W. Post 2754 and of A.A.R.P. Chapter 1435.
At the age of 78, Ida C. (Helbling) Weiss, of Shaler, formerly of the North Side, died Friday, June 17, 2005, in UPMC Passavant.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Allen E. Weiss, and by siblings: Harold, Emil, Wilbur, Howard, Ralph, Oscar, Larry and Bernice Helbling, Mildred Egerter, and Bertha Muller.
She was survived...
By children: Allen E. Weiss and Cheryl (Jim) Rodgers, of Shaler; Diane ("Mike" George) Bauer, of Wexford, and Marilyn (Bill) McFadden, of Gibsonia.
By siblings: Eleanor Leitsch and Mary (Chuck) Skalos, of Ross; Dorothy Cubarney, of West View; Jim (Kay) Helbling, of the North Side.
By grandchildren: Melissa, Becky, Jamie, Doug, Allen and Billy.
