Full Obituary: Irvin Bill Ray Ludwig, 90, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday evening, September 5, 2013 at his home. Born May 5, 1923 in Woodsfield, Ohio he was a son of the late William and Garnet (Swartzlander) Ludwig. Mr. Ludwig was an Army veteran of World War II and was in the European theatre. He retired in June of 1985 from Buckeye Pipeline/Ohio Oil Gatherings where he was superintendent of the Macksburg Division. He retired with 38 years and 9 months of service with the company. Mr. Ludwig was a member of the Frazeysburg United Methodist Church; Wakatomika Post # 6193, VFW of Frazeysburg and Frazeysburg Lodge #490, F & AM. He enjoyed woodworking and building grandfather clocks. He also enjoyed gardening, golf, bird watching, especially Purple Martins, and was a very avid Ohio State Football fan. Surviving is his loving wife of 66 years, Ida Belle (Schultheis) Ludwig whom he married August 16, 1947; two daughters, Carolyn (Don) Kniesly of Pleasant City, Ohio and Janet (Timothy) Archer of Laurelville, Ohio; two sons, Stanley (Nina) Ludwig of Frazeysburg and Dean (Jackie) Ludwig of Belpre, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Ludwig and Loretta Mann, both of Delaware, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Helen Ludwig; a brother, William Ludwig and a sister, Doris Jeffers. Calling hours will be 4pm to 8pm Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Frazeysburg Lodge will conduct Masonic services following calling hours at 8pm. Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Mesnard and Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Wakatomika Post #6193 VFW will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, 87 West Second Street, Frazeysburg, Ohio 43822 or to Genesis Hospice, 751 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Irvin "Bill" Ray Ludwig, 90, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday evening, September 5, 2013 at his home.
