  [S927] Obituary. Joan M. Knipp, 69, of Pilot Grove, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at her home, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Pilot Grove, a daughter of Victor and Blanche Gerling Spaedy. On Oct. 12, 1963, at St. Joseph Church in Pilot Grove, she was married to Dennis Knipp, who survives of the home. Mrs. Knipp was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Altar Society. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School and Pilot Grove High School. She worked for seven years at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Office in Boonville. Also surviving are a son, Joseph Alan Knipp, of Pilot Grove; her mother, of Pilot Grove; two brothers, Victor Jerome Spaedy, of Bismarck, N.D., and Darrell Eugene Spaedy, of Bunceton; and a sister, Mary Elaine Borgmeyer, of Jefferson City. She was predeceased by her father and a brother, John Louis Spaedy. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church in Pilot Grove, with the Rev. Thomas J. Seifner officiating. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Pallbearers will be nephews Tony Spaedy, Paul Spaedy, Robert Spaedy, David Spaedy, Ryan Spaedy and Collins Spaedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon and Vivian Knipp, David and Bobbi Knipp, Melvin and Tooter Knipp, Peter J. Knipp, Leroy Knipp and Cindy Dix, Emma Rose Knipp Dubbert and Joann Knipp. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pilot Grove. A prayer service will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church, with visitation to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove.
