Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome Frank, age 89 of Mott, will be held at 10:30am Saturday, September 8, 2007 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott. Fr Charles Zins and Deacon Robert Stockert will officiate with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.
A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday evening at St. Vincent's Catholic Church.
Serving as Honorary Casketbearers are his granddaughters, Shari Frith, Tracy Hintz, Kristy Erhardt, and Tricia Schwartz. Serving as Active Casketbearers are his grandsons, Mark Erhardt, Michael, Rick, Shayne, and Darin Pollack, Todd and Jay Wentz, Johnnie Tighe, Jamie and Eric Schlosser. Special music will be provided by Pat Schwartz, organist; Margie Frank and Diane Vetter, vocalists.
JEROME FRANK was born July 7, 1918 at Sheffield, SD to Stephen and Clementine (Heidt) Frank. He attended school in Sheffield and then served on the CCC's working on construction projects. He moved to Rochester, MN where he worked at St. Mary's Hospital and met Mary Mayer. They were united in marriage on June 10, 1940 at St. John's Catholic Church in Rochester. Jerome and Mary continued working at the hospital in Rochester until moving to the Sheffield and Mott areas where they farmed for 22 years. They operated "The Curve" night club for several years and then purchased "The Cactus Inn" in 1968 which they operated until 1982. Not yet ready to retire, he began working at the Indian Creek Recreation area where he was grounds keeper for 12 years.
Jerome and Mary then traveled visiting their children and families along with other relatives.
Jerome was a delight to all who knew him. His stories and great sense of humor will live in our hearts forever. Since he has touched so many lives, he has been his family's hero for five generations.
He entered the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Mott on May 3, 2007. He passed from this life on Monday evening, September 3, 2007.
Keeping him in their fondest memories are his wife, Mary, Mott, ND; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, LaVonn and Martin Erhardt, St. Helens, OR; Janet and Arnold Schmitt, Mott, ND; Patricia Tighe, Casper, WY; Doris Omdahl, Bismarck, ND; Mary Jo and Orville Schlosser, Scappoose, OR; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; 1 step-sister, Sister Joan, Richardton, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 19 brothers and sisters, Eleanor Stockert, Sebastian Frank, John Frank, Agatha Thoene, Christ Frank, Liberatus Frank, Magdalene Frank, Pius Frank, Ralph Frank, Sister Florentia "Barbara Frank", Marguerite Frank; Step-mother, Catherine Nuss; Step-sisters and Step-brothers, Sister Frances Marie, Florence, Veronica, John, Alex, Emilia, and Pauline, and Eleanor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday 1:00 to 7PM; Friday 1:00 to 5:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott and on Saturday one hour prior to services at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott.
A memorial has been established to St. Vincent's Building Fund.
