  [S927] Obituary. Obituary Clement J. Gerhardt, Sr., 80, Bismarck, died September 21, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long illness. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, September 23, 2011, at 10:30 am at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Military graveside services will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, September 22, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Clem was born on August 5, 1931, at Solen, ND, the son of George and Helen (Schaff) Gerhardt. He grew up on the family farm near Fallon, ND. He entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and was discharged in 1953. Clem married Whaneta Nagel on June 22, 1954, in Bismarck. He retired from Melroe in 1995. Clem is survived by his loving wife, Whaneta, Bismarck; three sons and daughters-in-law, Clem and Paula, Bismarck, Fred and Lynne, Cordova, TN, and Jim and Jennifer, Clearwater, MN; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Shaun Melarvie, Sturgeon Bay, WI; his grandchildren, Jason (Becky) Brilz and Eric Brilz, all of Omaha, NE, Jessica Brilz, Sturgeon Bay, WI, Shaun Melarvie, Jr. and Stephanie, both of Milwaukee, WI, Paul Mees, Bismarck, Chris (Sara) Mees, Grand Forks, Julie (Jason) Stevens, Lincoln, Matt (Amanda) Mees, Bismarck, Aaron Gerhardt and Mandy Gerhardt both of Cordova, TN, and Morgan Gerhardt and Gabe Gerhardt, both of Clearwater, MN; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Gabby, Ethan, Ben, Meadoh and Holly; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Tony (Dorothy), Lakewood, CA, George (Linda), Bismarck, Nancy Gerhardt, Bismarck, and Leona Gerhardt, Reno, NV; and many nephews and neices.
