Nist, 86, of Murrysville, formerly of Wilkins Township, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, in Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Feb. 20, 1930, in West View, a son of the late Robert and Hilda (Kuhn) Nist. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a construction manager. He was a Navy Reserves veteran. Donald will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 65 years, Geraldine M. (Istvan) Nist; daughter, Nancy Holby Frost (Robert Frost), of Irwin; son, Donald J. Nist (Barbara Feher-Nist), of Norman, Okla.; and daughter, Donnalyn Ginther, of Oviedo, Fla. He will be especially missed by his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. Blessing and committal services for Donald will be conducted at noon Saturday in the funeral home. Interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Donald's memory may be made to ASPCA, 424 East 92nd St., New York, NY 10128. Please write "Donald Nist" on check memo line.
