uneral Mass for Anton “Tony” Kuntz, 73 of Dickinson will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with Rosary and Prayer Service being held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010. Tony passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Southwest Health Care Center in Bowman, ND. Tony was born on September 8, 1937, the youngest of 15 children born, to Nicodemus and Francis (Wock) Kuntz. He grew up on the family farm north of South Heart and attended the local country school. After school, Tony took over the farm. In the early years, Tony traveled with his friends every fall. On one of his trips he visited his sister in Idaho and met the love of his life, Anita Gail Walters. Tony and Gail were married on August 25, 1963 in Elko, NV. The couple made their home on the farm north of South Heart. It was here that they raised their family of seven children; Shannon, Steve, Ryan, Ann, Marty, Jody and Don as well as one grandson, Drew. Tony felt blessed to live his entire life on the farm. He liked his toys: John Deere tractors, new cars and pickups and kept them all spotless. Tony enjoyed polkas, eating out and visiting with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and kept it until the very end. Tony thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and loved spending Christmas with all of his family. He was a great teacher and example to his children and grandchildren. Tony was a member of the Elks, Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a past member of the South Heart School Board. Tony is survived by his wife, Gail; his seven children, Shannon (Joe) Fritz, Beach, Steve (Lynda) Kuntz, Dickinson, Ryan (Lisa) Kuntz, Dickinson, Ann (David) Wood, Ridge, Maryland, Marty Steidl, Dickinson, Jody Kuntz, Deadwood, SD and Don (Amanda) Kuntz, Dickinson; 10 grandchildren, Drew, Brooke, Mikayla, Mason, Madison, Cameron, Jasmine, Micah, Dylan and Morghann; three sisters, Madge Stefanatz, Jerome, ID, Veronica Gayda, Dickinson and Adeline (Floyd) Hushka, Dickinson and two brothers, Reinold Kuntz, Dickinson and Stanley (Tillie) Kuntz, Belfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Family suggests memorials to Southwest Health Care Center in Bowman.
