  [S927] Obituary. Richard J. Schantz ? |???Visit Guest Book Richard J. Schantz GREECE - Richard J. Schantz passed away on April 4, 2011 at age 74. He was predeceased by his son, Kevin Schantz; brother-in-law, Al Leo; and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lois Schwab. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beatrice "Bea" Schantz; son, Richard (Karen) Schantz; daughter, Robin (Robert) Andrews; grandchildren, Alysia Schantz, Kristen Schantz, Christina Andrews and Bobby Andrews; brother, Charles (Jeanne) Schantz; sisters, Judy Leo and Eva Schantz; aunts, Agnes Schantz and Betty Schantz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Richard was a graduate of West High, Rochester Institute of Technology and University of Kentucky. He retired from Eastman Kodak Company after 35 years of service. Richard was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church for over 48 years, where he served as elder, deacon and on many other committees. He was a member of Friends of Rochester Presbyterian Home, ambassador for the Northwest YMCA and president of RIT Alumni Association. Richard dearly loved his children and grandchildren, fishing, downhill skiing, golf, bridge and Jokers & Pegs. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 3000 Dewey Ave., Rochester. Interment, in White Haven Memorial Park, will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Schwab-Schantz Educational Fund, c/o Bethany Presbyterian Church.
