  [S927] Obituary. Dennis C. Bulfer, 47 Posted: Thursday, Sep 3rd, 2009 DIXON Dennis C. Bulfer, 47, of Dixon, died, Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon. He worked as a machinist for Henry Pratt Co., Dixon, and was also a Union Steward for IAM Local Lodge 1052, District 101. Mr. Bulfer was born Sept. 14, 1961, in Mendota, the son of Dennis Walter and Elizabeth (Gerrard) Bulfer. He married Fran Stumpf on June 20, 1981, in Dixon. Dennis was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Dixon; an avid NASCAR fan; coached Al Morrison baseball for many years; and was an IHSA umpire. Survivors include two daughters, Bridgette (Chris) Woodall, Mary Bulfer, both of Ashton; his mother, Elizabeth, of Dixon; one brother, Tim (Gretchen) Bulfer, of Dixon; two sisters, Pamela, (David) Heilman, of Loves Park, Cyndi (Mark) Simon, of Rockford; and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Cory Ann Bulfer. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009 at the St. Patricks Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. James Keenan, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 2 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with the family present from 2 4 p.m. and 6 8 p.m. with a prayer service recited at 6 p.m. A memorial has been established.
