Thurn, Bismarck, ND formerly Wishek, ND will be Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home at Wishek, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, ND. Burial will be at the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND. Milbert W. Thurn, son of Albert and Emma (Just) Thurn was born December 17, 1926 near Wishek, ND. Milbert grew up in the Wishek area and attended rural school thru the eighth grade. After receiving his education, he continued to help his parents on the family farm. On June 30, 1960, he married Lenora Walth at St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek, ND. After their marriage, the couple began farming together near Wishek until they moved to Bismarck in 1984. Milbert then began working for local farmers Richard and Don Hoge as a farm hand which he thoroughly enjoyed for many years. Milbert retired to care for Lenora after she became ill. After Lenora's passing September 9, 2002, Milbert moved to Crescent Manor before moving to the Terrace for several years. In November of 2011, Milbert became a resident of the Bismarck Health Care Center. Milbert was a devoted member of St. Luke Lutheran Church at Wishek. Milbert enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, loved his puzzles and always enjoyed the annual egg coloring he and Jen would do at Easter time. Milbert died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. He was 87 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora, parents and two sisters.
