Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Mr. Gold died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Crescent Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Muscatine. He was employed as a supervisor at Rock Island Arsenal. He retired in 1972. He was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Buffalo, to Preston and Matilda (Rauch) Gold. He married Pauline Bell on Aug. 15, 1933, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Davenport. She died in 1989. He was a member of Buffalo Fire Department and Buffalo Second Alarmers. He was a former member of Knights of Pythias, Buffalo Outing Club and Davenport Moose Lodge. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, Buffalo, where he was a lifetime member. Survivors include a daughter, Paula Blocker, Davenport; a son, David Gold, Davenport; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Alan Gold, in 1949.
