Berreth, 99, of Linton, ND, died July 8, 2010 at the Strasburg Care Center, funeral services will be held at 10:30am Monday, July 12, 2010 at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton with the Reverend Fred Henkelmann officiating. Burial will be in the Linton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00pm to 9:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton. Art was born May 25, 1911 in Linton, ND the son of George and Magdalena (Trautman) Berreth. He attended country school and Hazelton High School. Art married Elizabeth Bollinger on March 24, 1936 at her parent?s home in Linton. He owned and operated a service station before he began farming in 1934. He farmed all his life until he retired from farming after 60 years. Elizabeth died in 1998. Art married Elizabeth Hofmann on April 24, 2000 in Linton, ND. They enjoyed 10 wonderful years together. Art entered the Strasburg Care Center in August of 2009. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and Linton Senior Citizens. Art also sang in the German Choir and served on the school board and the Temvik Elevator. He was also a foster parent for many children. Art died July 8, 2010 at the Strasburg Care Center. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth ?Lizzie? Berreth of Linton, ND; one step daughter, Nina Kay Peterson of Iowa; three step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; two sisters: Elsie Elliot of Minneapolis, MN and Hulda Fox of Milltown, WI and many nieces and nephews.
