  [S927] Obituary. EONHARDT, Doris Marie Age 85 of Boynton Beach passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012. Doris was born and raised in Elkview, WV to parents, Tessie Elizabeth and Pharoh Shafer. She attained her RN Degree in Canonsburg, PA and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, including a deployment in a MASH unit during the Korean War. She later worked as a Registered Nurse in hospitals throughout the United States. Doris had been a Florida resident for over 60 years and moved to Leisureville in 1998 where she remained active helping neighbors, walking, bike riding and water aerobics. She has donated over 50 gallons of blood in her lifetime and attended The First Presbyterian Church in Boynton Beach. Her survivors include George Leonhardt, her husband of 56 years; sisters, Betty Vola of Daytona Beach and Mary Fay Rogers of North Carolina; daughters, Lori Leonhardt of Columbus, GA, Lisa Choy of Waikiki, HI; sons, Gary (Debbie) Leonhardt of Corpus Christi, TX and Jim (Mary) Leonhardt of Stuart, FL; six grandchildren and four granddogs. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 7 at Palm Beach Memorial Park, 3691 Seacrest Blvd., Lantana. A Memorial Celebration and reception will follow at First Presbyterian Church, 235 SW 6th Ave., Boynton Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the First Presbyterian Church in Boynton Beach in Doris? memory.
